The Second Element of Indulgence is: The Spirits of Life

Solomon says, “I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom: and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was the good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.” I want to use a metaphor to interject a
theory in what Solomon gave himself to, which is wine; as The Spirits of Life. Wine sometimes is referred to as Spirits.
1) Wine can become an inducer of false realities which can create the illusion of stability and
comfort. When Solomon gave himself to wine he became intoxicated with the shadows of
happiness, the façade of peace and the misrepresentations of living. He knew this because
he was acquainted with wisdom but he wanted to experience the Spirits of Life. In the
culture and times we live in we become electrified by the passions of the wine we intake
on a daily occurrence.
2) These Spirits of Life have created soul ties to keep us galvanized in the moment of
amusement. The Spirits of Life can only live if we give energy and force to the moods and
outlets that they present. They have life because we foolishly give them life. Through
wisdom we find the compass that leads to balance and sobriety.
Be blessed,
