Your Money is Not Your Life

There is a powerful concept in verse 7 of Chapter 1 of Ecclesiastes. It says “All the rivers run into the sea yet the sea is not full: unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return
again.”
Rivers, seas, and money have something in common and that is currency. There must be a currency
in order for any of these things to move or flow.
1) The principle to a clause of the verse is, as much as there is a current, there’s never enough.
The more you acquire, the more you want, but you are never satisfied.
2) When you make your survival of life money, you miss the principle of what money is for
and that is to flow and not to be stagnant.
3) Idle money leads to making it an idol and idolatry causes you to be infatuated with
something that was never designed to be worshiped but to work for you.
4) Your money was never designed to satisfy you but to be an outlet to make things happen
and cause an entry to opportunity.
There are many of us that feel that who we are and who we are becoming has everything to do
with our economic status. You hear the statements, “What are you worth?” “What is your value?”
“What’s your bottom line”? These statements center around money. We value our life by the
dollar sign. Many of us will sacrifice everything to obtain a dollar. In doing this we lose the value
of life and the purpose of why we are here. Let me make this profound statement. You are not
existing in this world to become rich. If this is your idea of life you will never be satisfied.
5) You must be conscious of why you are here. You are here to grow, impact and evolve in
life and never mistake your presence for possessions.
Be blessed,
